Buttons!

That marvelous Yarn Harlot blogged the other day about her button collection. She wondered if everyone had a button box somewheres in their house. Well, even if they don't, I think everyone should have one! Mine is in my kitchen in a water glass above the stove.

I get to look at it everyday and it always makes me smile. My husband wonders why I keep it in the kitchen.

I just like to look at the pretty colors.

A spot of joy in my busy day.

At The Family Restaurant

Apparently, this is turning into a blog about eavesdropping. That's just because I think other people's lives are more interesting than my homework infested one right now.

Overheard at the table near mine in the restaurant:

Him: I want to get my truck lifted. That would be cool.

Her: That is so pointless!!

Him: Yeah, well diamonds are pointless too, but you still wanted one.

For the record, he smiled when he said that and I think he was holding her hand. Maybe part of love is understanding that the other person will occasionally really, really want something pointless. And you will buy it for them.

In The Lunch Room

A group of women were eating lunch in the booth next to mine. One of them was complaining that her grandson did not get a blessing from the priest that Sunday. It went something like this:

"So, I wanted Father Ignatius to bless Brian, but he wandered off and I don't know where the hell he went. I can't imagine what the **** he was doing. He should have stuck around long enough to bless the **** baby."

Just a guess, but maybe he was fleeing the potty mouth.

Overheard In The Hall

While waiting to go into my afternoon class today, I heard the following:

"I hate to ruin a good thing. Maybe we should stick with the slushees."

Not sure about that one.
